International Women’s Day, March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
Last year, in 2024, we marked IWD with the theme #InspireInclusion, aiming to create a more inclusive world for women. This year, we continue our commitment with the theme #AccelerateAction, which emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, observed on February 11, highlights the vital role women and girls play in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is a call to break barriers, promote gender equality, and inspire the next generation of female scientists, innovators, and leaders to shape a more inclusive and diverse future.
