Structured earl​​​​​​​y talent programs are a great way to start your career in our global company. Be it with rotations, mentorships or additional soft skills trainings - ABB offers different options, from the ABB Discovery program, to the Global Early Talent Program.

ABB Discovery

Our business-driven rotational early talent program
How is it structured?
The program is 18-24 months divided into 3 or 4 rotations. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to explore different teams and roles, learning more as you advance. 

Potential roles include commercial sales, finance, IS, project engineering, field service, operations, supply chain and more.

This program is the perfect blend of challenging and diverse tasks, social and networking activities and soft/hard-skills trainings.
At ABB, we want you to grow and contribute to your team, and we support you all the way.
The program is activated at country level and you will start your journey together with other participants. Starting dates vary by country.
Who should apply?
Applicants are graduates (bachelor's or master's depending on the program target) of various disciplines from business, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering to name a few.
There are many good reasons to apply - be it for the network, the high quality of peers in the program or the inspiring tasks you will be assigned.


Frequently asked questions

Program structure

Writing your story as a global Robotics trainee means that within a 18 to 24-months program you run through different assignments. After finishing the program you will start in your permanent position.

Introduction
In the first 2 to 4 weeks you get to know the team in your home country. Additionally, you will spend another 8 to 10 weeks in Shanghai to learn more about the global business area.

Assignment I
During the first assignment you will stay in your home country, completing a 9 to 12 months experience. You will work within a specific function and assigned to a project. You will also receive dedicated leadership training.

Assignment II
Your second assignment takes you abroad for another 6 to 9 months. 
In your host country you will again work in a function or on a specific project.
