Sri Dewi has been with ABB since 1995, where she has a longstanding position as a customer support specialist. “I stumbled upon a small job vacancy column in the newspaper when ABB first opened a branch in Surabaya. With a background in accountancy, I applied for the only available position, and I’ve been working here ever since”, she recalled. 

Throughout the years, Sri Dewi has witnessed positive growth and changes within ABB. “When I joined, there was only one division ― motion services with motors and generators. But over time, ABB expanded its portfolio, with robotics being the newest addition I know of.” Even the system she uses for her day-to-day task changed from the former Scala system to the new SAP system. While it initially posed a challenge for Sri Dewi, she was grateful to have supportive colleagues and understanding superiors that helped her adjust to the new system. “When I faced difficulties, I felt comfortable discussing them with my superiors. At the Surabaya office, I’m given the opportunity to develop my skills, as trainings are often provided for us to learn more about the new system.”

When asked about her achievements, Sri Dewi recalls being part of the project which supplied five high-voltage motors to one of the largest thermal power stations, PT. Jawa Power. While she gives full credit to the sales and project team for closing the deal and ensuring smooth delivery, there is no doubt that the great support behind the scenes also contributed towards the project’s success. “To me, teamwork and being hardworking are the most important qualities to have as an employee. They are essential in every role and project.”

Having worked in ABB for 28 years, Sri Dewi’s dedication to the company is an admirable accomplishment and a testament to the exceptional work environment and culture cultivated at ABB. “If I were unhappy here, I would not have been able to work for such a long time. Whenever my friends or family ask me about working at ABB, I would always say that I highly recommend it.”
