How can I reduce my ecological footprint? What can I do to contribute more to sustainability? ABB colleague Frida is vegetarian, buys second-hand furniture and she works on the e-mobility team of ABB in Sweden.

"In my first year on the e-mobility team in Sweden, we delivered more than 150 EV chargers."
She may not drive an electric car herself, but rather takes the bike or public transport. Sustainable mobility is important to Frida - in her personal and professional life.
Frida works as a Project Manager with the ABB Swedish e-mobility team at ABB. “I have always been very interested in sustainability,” said Frida. “It starts with you, analyzing what changes you can make to contribute – both privately and professionally. I’m for example vegetarian and I mostly try to buy second-hand furniture and avoid flying.”
When she started her graduate rotational program at ABB, Frida didn’t know she would end up on the e-mobility team. “During my program, I had the chance to get a very broad understanding of ABB and our technologies. That’s one of the cool things at ABB – we have so many products and fields,” Frida explains. When asked about her favorite technology she does not hesitate at all. “It’s the bus chargers. Imagine, they are charging a bus within 4 minutes and up to 600 kW!”
Given her interests, the e-mobility team was a perfect match. “As a project manager, my job starts when we get an order. Then I connect with our global team in the Netherlands to make sure we get all the necessary products and support the installation,” said Frida. In other words, she’s involved with an order from start to finish.
“What I really like about my job is that you directly see the results,” Frida adds. During her first year on the team, she has been involved in the installation of more than 150 EV chargers. And there is a lot more to achieve in the future: “Today, we are mainly working to build up the infrastructure. Our product portfolio is constantly developing. In the future, I hope we will be able to offer even more compact and smart chargers that can charge even more vehicles at the same time,” Frida points out.
Apart from the portfolio and the environmental impact, Frida especially enjoys the atmosphere on her team. She sites the daily fika (fika is the Swedish word for coffee break), which has become part of the daily working routine for the team. “Every day we use this break to get to know each other better, talk about private things and for sure drink a cup of coffee or tea together,” says Frida.
