Simultaneously, he remained open to unconventional career paths for law graduates. When he found an internship opportunity at ABB, he didn’t think twice – especially since he knew he would be a part of the newly created Privacy Management Team.
What are his daily tasks and responsibilities? They span across the data privacy world and sometimes extend beyond it. His role involves advising on compliance, contracting and designing solutions to ensure an adequate level of protection for all personal data processed by ABB worldwide.
Working at ABB has allowed him to hone his skills, develop approaches for navigating challenging situations, and communicate with people located all over the world. ‘Step by step, I was able to take on more responsibility and tackle complicated tasks more effectively. The professional I am today is the outcome of the guidance I have received and the environment in which I have grown over the last 5 years, all of them spent at ABB’ – says Mateusz.
For him, ABB was a gateway to the world of international networks, varied challenges, and advice from top-tier professionals. This combination makes the organization an excellent place to learn, grow, and develop skills – both hard skills, strictly in the field of expertise, as well as soft skills that are so needed and valued in today’s world.
That's not to say that he didn’t face challenges along the way. A dynamic environment means you have to adapt quickly and keep abreast of the latest developments. Supporting the business requires knowledge that goes beyond just compliance, and quick thinking is needed to provide accurate and timely advice. However, these challenges are also something that Mateusz sees as an asset: ‘Tackling them is the fuel that drives my professional and personal growth.’
For those planning a long and progressive career at ABB, Mateusz's advice is to embrace new challenges, keep moving forward, learn continuously, and connect with new people. ABB provides ideal environment for growth. Although it can be challenging, the rewards are always worthwhile.
