What does your typical workday look like? What kind of projects and tasks do you work on?
My typical workday starts with prioritizing tasks to be done, brainstorming with the team to share feedback and get ideas, and helping other teams with UX (User Experience) reviews and guidance.
I work on NGT projects and the tasks involved include gathering requirements, creating personas, creating work-flows/user flows, mapping user journeys, creating wireframes, visual designs and so on.
What kind of development opportunities have you had in your role?
I have had opportunities to interact with other in-house UX teams, coming up with cool ideas and filing patents, writing journals, UX mentoring, exploring common workflows and common UX components for ABB products. Learning new ideas from UX communities and incorporating in our day-to-day activities brings ease in our work.
I have gone from working for an individual team to scaling up to work at a global level to harmonize UX across different ABB products and being part of a team which defines UX guidelines and components.
What is your favorite part about your role as a User Experience Specialist?
I enjoy thinking about things from the user’s perspective, and brainstorming sessions where we can collaborate and discuss lot of ideas on how to improve experience. For me, I also like the iteration and challenge to be creative. It helps to visualize the product to come up with some cool new features.
What do you enjoy the most about the culture at ABB?
