What is your main field of study? Why did you choose to study this field? When will you graduate?
I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and am currently studying Computer Science and Intelligent Systems with a specialization in Graphics in Intelligent Systems. I chose Biomedical Engineering because my interests combined mathematics and chemistry. I knew that with such an interdisciplinary field of study, I would be able to learn about various aspects of it, including programming. My engineering thesis was comparing machine learning algorithms in diabetes diagnosis using clinical data.
During my studies, I became interested in graphic design, so I decided to continue my studies with a master's degree, but in a different field, allowing me to develop my other skills and interests further.
After joining, my first impression was really good. This is my first internship in IT, so I had to learn a lot of new information at the beginning, but I received a lot of support, especially from my team.

When did you start your internship and what made you join ABB? What was your first impression after joining?
I joined ABB in July 2023 for an internship during my studies. 3 months before, I attended a workshop at my university organized by ABB. I learned more about Agile, and project management and received tips on how to present myself on LinkedIn and in job interviews. I also became more familiar with the whole company. After the event, I was invited to visit the ABB office in Krakow during the Open Day. I found out about the internship opportunities and (inspired by the people at those events) decided to apply. What are your typical tasks? What kind of projects have you been working on?
I am supporting my team with the Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) process which includes reviewing the improvements, contacting people from different teams, assisting with the process and the tool, and promoting a continuous improvement mindset. During my internship, I was also involved in creating training materials to widen the knowledge of CSI and in initiatives that promote the process.

What has been the most memorable moment for you during your time with ABB? Is there any specific event or meeting that stands out?
My first day for sure. Of course, at first, I felt a bit lost considering the large amount of new information, but my team was incredibly supportive and helpful. Thanks to them the beginning was a lot easier. They were very open (and still are) to any of my questions, which enabled me to improve my knowledge every day.
