Graduate Trainee 2024

“Enjoy plenty of social events, and build a wide network of contacts”

Carl Kilström is passionate about leadership, project management, and sales. While studying mechanical engineering alongside economics at Lund University, he was unsure which career path suit him best. That is exactly why he joined ABB Graduate Trainee Program, which offered experiences across various roles. Today he is a project manager responsible for delivering large ABB motors and generators to customers in North America.

...my best tip for someone thinking about applying for a trainee position:
“My best tip for anyone applying for the trainee position is to fully embrace the program. You'll get to try different roles, go on customer trips, enjoy plenty of social events, and build a wide network of contacts.”

...one thing that has surprised me about ABB:
“One thing that surprised me was how large ABB is. Working for a global company like ABB means being involved in many industries across countries around the world. This gives us employees the chance to gain insights into different sectors and develop valuable cultural understanding.”

… working for a better future (global impact):
“Sustainability is at the core of ABB as we develop technologies and solutions that help industries reduce their environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.”

… the best thing about working for ABB:
“The best thing about working at ABB is that you can work with important and meaningful tasks while still maintaining a good work-life balance. The company offers flexible working options and a supportive environment that allows employees to grow while having time for a life outside of work.”
