Arsam Sahba

Project manager for digital projects

“Make sure you choose the right industry”

Arsam Sahba is passionate about digitalization, connecting systems and working with data in smarter ways. While studying at Chalmers University he got the opportunity to do his thesis at ABB. The project was a success and after a year of business studies in the United States, he got accepted into ABB Discovery. Today he is a project manager at ABB developing digital solutions for the paper industry.

Arsam Sahba on…

...my best tip for someone thinking about applying for a trainee position:
“My tip is to think about which general area or industry you want to work in and choose a trainee position based on that. It is more difficult to change industries than to change company or role later.”

...one thing that has surprised me since joining ABB:
“Inside ABB there really is a strong focus on work-life balance. When I talk to managers on different levels of the company a common thread is that they stress the importance of balance as a prerequisite for being able to do a good job.”

...working for a better future:
“Sustainability is a major theme in the trainee program at ABB and there are great opportunities to work with sustainability in various ways within ABB. For me, in my daily work, sustainability is about finding ways to use resources more efficiently with the help of digitalization.”

…the best thing about working for ABB:
“The best thing about the job is my colleagues. The organization is global and I love to travel and meet people and experience new cultures. I am very much looking forward to being able to start travelling again when the pandemic is over.
