I am Daniel Navarro, currently COO and ad-interim Managing Director of our business line Consumer Segments & Service Robotics. I am Spanish but feeling myself as a citizen of the World after having the opportunity to live in different countries in 3 continents. ABB has given me the opportunity to always move out of my comfort zone and explore new and very interesting challenges. I joined ABB in 1998 in Barcelona (Spain) as a young engineer, programing robots and designing solutions for our projects in automotive. I have very good memories from my time there and keep many good friends. After having many different roles there, from Project Management to SCM, operations, etc,… one day the Country Manager of ABB in Spain called me to ask me to move to Madrid to start a new role as business development and account management. This gave me also the opportunity to take same role for the whole Mediterranean region (south of EU, north of Africa). By end of 2014, I applied for the LBU Manager for Robotics in Poland. It was my very first time abroad and first time having a P&L responsibility. I moved my family with me and here we started a journey that it has not ended yet living, after Warsaw, in Shanghai (China) for 3 years and currently in Atlanta (US). What I take from this experience it is not only the great learning opportunities both professionally and personally but the great eye-opening cultural and life experience that this has given to my wife and 2 kids. ABB is a great company and Robotics division is the most dynamic and innovating unit but what I appreciate the most is its real global and multicultural nature that has enriched me as leader and as a person.
