What is your main field of study? Why did you choose to study this field? When will you graduate?
Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) in Tampere University. Currently pursuing my master’s degree and will be graduating next year. I especially like IEM because you are able to combine technology, finance and practical problem-solving skills in the education. This has helped me especially in the industrial field, like ABB, where I have currently been working for most of my studies.

When did you start your internship and what made you join ABB? What was your first impression after joining?
I started my internship in 2021 summer. What I like the most is that still to this day, I am able to learn new things about ABB in my work. The journey has this far showed me what a massive corporate ABB is, and how many possibilities there is for one to actually achieve. My first impressions were the responsibilities which were given for trainees. They’re fulfilling the same duties as other employees right from the start. What are your typical tasks? What kind of projects have you been working on?
I’m currently working in Motion T&L (trade & logistics) in Finland, where my responsibilities include different process and systems development tasks. My typical tasks are related to end-to-end supply chain process development, including transportation management systems, ERP, and other core systems synergy and functionality enhancements. An important part is also analyzing the data related to T&L and providing information to support the decision-making. I’ve been working on multiple projects varying in size and scope. The tasks are not focused only on planning, in this role I’ve been able to see the change by implementing the different developments.
Always be curious and ready to learn new things, that’ll get you the extra mile.
