I am studying Electrical Engineering and Energy Technology at the University of Vaasa. I chose this field because I am interested in developing a more sustainable future and finding energy-efficient solutions. I plan to graduate with a master's degree within the next two years.

When did you start your internship and what made you join ABB? What was your first impression after joining?
I started at ABB in 2022 in the production of protection relays, and in 2023 I moved to export forwarding. I applied to ABB because I had heard interesting career stories at university, and it seemed that ABB invested a lot in research and development. I was impressed by the good advancement opportunities and the possibility for personal growth. My first impression was very positive. I quickly realized that ABB is a large international company with ambitious goals.What are your typical tasks? What kind of projects have you been working on?
My typical tasks include booking transportation, preparing transport documents, and invoicing according to the regulations of various authorities and countries. Additionally, I respond to emails, get certificates of origin approved and review purchase invoices. I also handle various smaller tasks as needed. While my workdays have a consistent structure there is always something new to learn.

What has been the most memorable moment for you during your time with ABB? Is there any specific event or meeting that stands out?
The most memorable moment for me has been the presentations of different units in Vaasa organized for summer employees. I learned a lot about the operations of various units and got to meet unit leaders and other summer employees. It was inspiring to hear career stories and gain insights into the daily activities and functions of the units.

I believe ABB has a strong brand image and it has met my expectations. At ABB you have the opportunity to develop yourself and learn new skills. It’s also great to work in an international environment and collaborate with diverse teams. I can easily see myself working at ABB for many years.
