Batuhan has a unique career path. Originally from Istanbul, Türkiye, he graduated from Maritime High School and then moved to Varna, Bulgaria, to pursue his bachelor's degree. His latest journey brought him to Kraków, Poland, where he joined ABB. “I've changed my field from what I had expertise in to something new and decided to proceed with this opportunity to gain more experience. Do I regret it? Definitely not! Because I'm learning, improving, and growing a lot thanks to the support of my team,” says Batuhan. He is where he wants to be − at a place he knows well and continues to learn more about. He adds, “Do I want to change my field? If you love your expertise, who wouldn't? It's all about the right timing and being ready for that. Luckily, ABB's Internal Job Market is amazing and can help everyone follow their passions.”
Batuhan has known about ABB since he was a child because one of ABB's factories was next to his father’s office in Istanbul. This early exposure sparked his interest in ABB. Later, in Maritime High School and university, he learned more about ABB’s leadership in marine and port innovations. “When I saw the chance to join ABB, I had to take it. I didn’t even think twice!” Batuhan recalls.
Being part of ABB and his team has been an incredible growth journey for Batuhan! “Various training programs and daily tasks have sharpened my soft skills and project management abilities. Also, the ABB Talent Ambassador program, which I’m part of, is helping me a lot,” he says. “I've represented ABB at career fairs and improved my communication skills. Additionally, co-organizing the #ABBMeetup has been great for my professional development and has given me valuable experience.”
ABB offers impressive opportunities and benefits globally, as Batuhan mentions. One of his favorites is the “Working from Abroad” program, which is great for work-life balance. “I can use this benefit to visit my parents, which I will be doing soon again! So, if you are planning a great career at ABB, always be open to new learnings and challenges, and be ready to meet amazing people!”
