Raksha’s journey at ABB
Raksha joined ABB two years ago as a global trainee and has adapted well to corporate life ever since. She feels fortunate to be part of the Early Talent Program, which selects one individual from each country, with her being one among the chosen few.
This program, among other things, gave her the opportunity to step out of her home country and explore ABB’s culture and beliefs. From, its reputation for nurturing young professionals, hands-on learning and mentorship, diverse teams and experiences to international exposure, particularly at the Zurich headquarters – Raksha experienced the best of what ABB has to offer to a young professional like her.
Transformative and Rewarding Experience
Raksha describes her journey at ABB as incredibly transformative and rewarding. Working with a diverse group of professionals has broadened her perspective. She highlights that the Early Talent Program allows trainees to connect with different layers of the organization, which she thinks stands out the most for her. "I feel very honored to have interacted with individuals from different levels in the organizational hierarchy. From CEO, CFO, CIO, to various other leaders who shared valuable insights with me. It provided me with a different perspective on how to approach things.”, she says.
Technical Experience and Contributions
Raksha has been deeply involved in the field of Operational Technology (OT) security, which is relatively new but very important. She has played a key role since the beginning of the CyberForge project, which focuses on securing ABB’s critical business operational technology with a standardized approach. Raksha led risk profiling, Self-assessment, and Fund Calculation Methodology parts of the project in addition to coordinating with various consultants to ensure smooth functioning of the project.

Raksha’s dedication to her work and her eagerness to learn are truly remarkable. She earned the title of a Trailblazer during her time on the Early Talent Program. When asked about the most inspiring part of her job, she quips, “Working with different teams has been one of the most enriching parts of my job. I am surrounded by talented individuals who bring diverse perspectives to the table. They are all immensely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.”
Work Culture and Future Aspirations
Regarding ABB’s work culture and how it supports her goals and future aspirations, Raksha says, “It’s fine to be an empty cup when you’re starting your career or later. ABB is a place where you can grow, but it’s up to you to make the most of it. It’s reassuring to know that there are people invested in your success and willing to help you grow. I believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and ABB supports that. One piece of advice that stuck with me was what, Björn Rosengren, former CEO, ABB said in his closing statement, which is to enjoy life besides work. He encouraged employees to go on vacations and have time for themselves and not work all the time. This is a perfect example of how deeply ABB supports work-life balance.”
