I’m Chema Collados, Healthcare solutions line manager withing business line Consumer Segments and Service Robotics. I’m electrical engineer and I have been working in ABB since 1999. I started in ABB as back end engineer in the amazing Robotics Press Automation team in Barcelona, where I could participate in several projects from quotation to execution and engage with automotive and tier 1 customers in highly innovative enviroment. One of our largest customers in Press Automation is Gestamp and I took the role of Key Account manager in 2000. We experienced Gestamp global expansion and we supported them in Press Automation, Welding and Quality Control Systems around the globe, while meeting amazing people and friends along the way, that still remain very close to me. From 2008, Gestamp started strong ramp up in their Renewable Energy division and we supported them with delivery of key components for substations and with construction of complete Solar Photovoltaic power plants. Thanks to Gestamp success in this business and trust in ABB, in 2008 I moved to ABB Power Generation business, working from ABB global Application team in Madrid and taking business development responsibility for Solar in Mediterranean region. This was great for me as one of my passions is renewable energy and I really learned a lot about the technology and completely different business. In 2013, I took responsibility on ABB Spain Power Conversion business that included start-up businesses and teams connected to renewable energy products and power electronics. That was an amazing learning experience as we started new businesses for ABB Spain and our team grew in 2 years from 13 to 45 people. There I learned how much I loved being part of new teams creation. In 2017, I started responsibility to lead ABB Drives business in Spain and, again, I could learn from amazing sales and product organization and new applications (traction, water, OEMs development…). From 2018, I took over responsivity of Robotic and Motion Division before moving to Houston (US) in 2019 to start a new venture in ABB Robotics: Life Sciences and Healthcare. I continue to enjoy every day, now with Healthcare technology and business, while we build a new diverse team with very different background (Engineering, BioMedical, Biology…) so there is no other way that continue to learn from each other, always.
